XFX 7800GT SLI Video Card Review :: The Final Word
XFX has done and a solid job of bringing to market a 7800GT worthy of a tad of your attention and cash considerations. Based an already winning NVIDIA GeForce 7800 chipset, XFX goes just that farther path needed to further enhance the cards over all performance and user attraction. Using quality components and not scrimping on the parts used in its construction to shave a few bucks off its cost, has ensured product reliability and a card that will last the average user probably longer his system. Overclocking and the available headroom to do so also become more realistic when using parts that exceed the standard qualifications. You can tell from the performance and overclocking abilities care and ingenuity were embedded into the design of card. Ran in SLI mode these cards were unstoppable, running the current games at 1280X1024 resolutions with all the hardware enhancements turned to maximum. The card showed no signs of sluggish or jerky behavior patterns as shown when cards are struggling to keep up with their appointed tasks. Things like the included bundle and the new Call of Duty 2 game deal are things that will even further a users interest when deciding in what card to purchase. I mean if you have a new shiny card why not some hot PC titles to play on it right? XFX is one of the very few partners participating in the COD 2 campaign and that will surely help them at the sales counter this holiday season. Regardless of what the console has to offer, PC gaming graphics still kick the ass on them all, and if you are a hard core gamer you play PC games and know what I mean, if not, oh well. I have yet to find in a console the capabilities my high-end system can achieve or games that made me want to leave my PC and head for the couch, but that's just me I guess. Buying two 7800GT cards is still a bit on the pricey side and for those with to much money to waste on goodies, but performance wise nothing and I mean nothing can compete. Single card performance will satisfy most users in any case offering the best performance for its card class and price range. When you take into consideration the overall package content, card performance and overclocking capabilities, warranty and price, it stands out as a winning combination. If PC gaming at its best is your goal, and you want what it takes to play today's hottest titles, the XFX 7800GT is a worthy contender for your investment. That said the card wins our Hot Product Award as a card that merits attention. Good job folks. Until next time. Doc out
