One of my favorite movies of all time was King Kong. The idea of a huge gorilla rampaging is taken to the next level. Peter Jackson, the Director of Lord Of The Rings, is directing this new game. The demo was released a few days ago and has you escaping a T-Rex (ala Jurassic Park), as an explorer and as King Kong fighting a T-Rex to save the beautiful girl. I was able to play KK on the GIGABYTE 7800GT at 1280x1024 with 4x AA and 8x AF.
Half Life 2 was one of the biggest releases of 2004. The game released late last year is the sequel to the GOTY of 1999. The 7800GT plays the game very well, with 1280x1024 32-bit 4x AA 16X AF with Transparency AA enabled fully playable. Transparency SuperSample Antialiasing cures artifacts in chain-link fences caused by the texture being smaller than the inside of the fence. If you haven't played the game, I would strongly suggest it.
Pro Evolution Soccer 5 is the latest soccer game. The demo has beautiful graphics including lush grass, beautiful character models when viewing a replay and more. The 7800GT played this game without problem and the framerate was very comfortable. One thing with the small characters in the stadium, there's not much use for FSAA or AF.
Call Of Duty was one of the best WW2 games of 2003. I enjoyed playing it on my RADEON 9800XT when it first came out. At E3 this year, COD2 was announced. Last week, the demo for COD2 was released giving a single-player mission. I was able to comfortably play COD2 demo throughout at 1280x1024 32-bit 4x AA 8x AF.
