Any modern video card in this price category will play modern games like Half Life 2, Act Of War, or The Chronicles Of Riddick without issue. The X700 Pro is classed as a card with the performance of 2003's 9800XT, making it an excellent card to play games with.

Act of War is the latest game from Atari. It's a RTS (Real Time Strategy) game in the vein of Command and Conquer Ground Control. On the X700 Pro, the game plays like a dream. The demo played on the X700 Pro without issue or problem at the default settings and resolution. Act of War is a blast and if you haven't picked it up, I would suggest doing so ASAP.

Half Life 2 was the Game of The Year last year in my opinion. As a continuation to the story of Gordon Freeman from the first game, HL2 added a deeper storyline, improved graphics, and more. The Gigabyte X700 Pro played this game to 1280x1024 without many issues. If you want to play HL2 with AA and AF I would suggest a X800 class card.

Halo was first introduced at a Apple Macworld trade show in 1999. At the time announced for the PC and Mac, Halo wasn't released until the Christmas season of 2001 with the release of the Microsoft Xbox. Microsoft finally released Halo for the PC in 2003. I played Halo with no issues up to 1024x768 maximum settings. Personally, I found my experience in Halo fun and enjoyable.
