As you can see in the benchmarks, the Sempron beats the faster core speed Celeron in almost every test we threw at it other than the memory tests, as this is an area, which Intel's memory management technology pays off for them. In some games, the scores show a decent margin of performance differences, with the Sempron coming out on top, but in a few games, the scores were only marginally different, but still with the Sempron coming out in the lead. Overall, I think this is a budget chip that kicks some silicon booty and is worthy enough to run solid in your system. For the target market that AMD has aimed for, I think that they have succeeded in bringing to the table a CPU that functions adequately enough to not be a disappointment to most common users.
