The HSPC Tech Station is a very nice little workstation that allows hardware enthusiasts an easy way of swapping out hardware. It is very compact and makes good use of all the room provided. The large 120mm fan is a bit on the loud side but pushes a lot of air to keep things running cool. With motherboard layouts like the DFI Ultra-D where DIMM slots are located at the top, the memory gets great cooling. You won't have to worry about components overheating. Of course not all things are perfect. My major gripe with the workstation is that it does not provide security for motherboard installation. The motherboard is loose and can slide around if the bench is moved too much.
There is nothing to specific to hold down the motherboard. The only thing that keeps the motherboard somewhat in place are the graphic card and add on cards, which are screwed on to the AGP/PCI bracket. The other gripe is that there isn't much room inside the workstation. The whole assembly could be a little taller to accommodate tall heatpipe heatsinks. My Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 fits just about right, with little room to spare. One last dislike is the acrylic hard drive holder. It only allows one hard drive to be used. What if enthusiasts wanted RAID? They'll have to resort to sitting the hard drive outside on top of the optical drives. Overall this workstation is pretty neat. It is lightweight and is compact and allows sufficient room for overclockers and reviewers to swap out hardware with ease. At a price of $79.99, it's a tough call. I can spend less than $25 and get a cheap case with a motherboard tray, and use just the tray. Personally I like the workstation but the price is a little steep for me to go out and buy one.
