The PCX5900 is nothing but a PCI-E version of the popular FX5900 GPU, and has all the same features and hardware technology.

  • CineFX 2.0 Engine
  • Intellisample HCT
  • nView Technology
  • OpenGL 1.5
  • DirectX 9.0

The CineFX 2.0 engine optimizes all stages of the pixel pipeline, doubling the floating-point pixel shader power of the original CineFX engine. It dramatically increases the floating-point shader power and is more efficient at executing pixel shader programs. Included in the CineFX 2.0 engine are the vertex and pixel shaders 2.0+.

Nvidia's Intellisample is their technology to smooth out the jagged edges of 3D images to make objects look as realistic as possible. Intellisample HCT (high-resolution compression technology) allows for up to 50-percent increase in compression efficiency and still manages to produce excellent performance under high resolutions.

Nvidia's nView Technology is Nvidia's easy method of setting up multiple displays. For those who have or wish to use multiple monitors, the nView is about as easy as it can get. It is ideal for those who multitask on a daily basis, or even those who want to play games and still surf the internet at the same time. It creates a larger desktop space and provides better management of opened windows.
