The TV Wonder USB 2.0 picked up my local TV stations without issue. One thing that's an improvement over the TV Wonder USB is that the unit uses a Theater 200 chip which is an improved multimedia chip over the Rage Theater chip used in the TV Wonder. Quality of picture is also important. In this case, the quality of the TV images is equivalent to that of the TV Wonder PCI cards, which is to say excellent. The 45db amplified antenna from RCA that I use to receive stations picked up the local stations (2,4 , 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 18, 22, 28, 30, 34, 40, 46, 52, 56, 58) and I had no problems with stuttering or image quality loss that I've seen with the TV Wonder.

One nice feature found in all current ATI AIW and TV tuner products is the ability to TV-ON-DEMAND programs like a TiVo. With TV-ON-DEMAND ability, TV can be paused when going out to the store or the bathroom and start playback when you return. It's also possible to Zoom-In or out of the picture while it's playing, a useful feature for looking at image quality.

There's a couple of ways to schedule recording of a program with the TV Wonder USB 2.0. ATI's Scheduler is their application to schedule recording or watching of a live event with the TV Wonder USB 2.0. To enable it just click the scheduler tab on ATI's control panel for the TV Wonder USB and it'll set the channel, time show starts and recording duration. It's very straightforward, for even the most novice user. The second method of recording is from the Gemstar Guide+ Extended Program Guide included with the TV Wonder USB 2.0.

ATI has used this EPG for several years now, with every TV Wonder and All In Wonder product including it as part of the software packaging. You can set it to automatically download weekly TV programming updates, just entering your zip code and email address. The EPG is good for regular over-the air broadcasts and Cable TV. One additional bonus is that you'll get program information onscreen while changing channels.
