The GV-NX57128D comes with an active cooling heat sink on the graphics core for keeping the GPU at a cool state of operation. The heat sink is all aluminum, coming with a gold color finish to add color flavor. There are no heat sinks attached to the video memory in any fashion. It would have been nice to see some as it helps a little when overclocking, but seeing as this card is for the budget mainstream users, there really isn't much need for it. The core is processed at 0.13 microns and has low heat output for higher clock speeds. This means that the provided heat sink and fan will be more than sufficient at keeping the video card running cool.
The video memory comes rated at 3.6ns for a theoretical memory speed of 555.55MHz. The card comes clocked at 425MHz for the core and 500MHz for the memory. There is definitely some headroom for possible memory overclocking since the memory is "underclocked". Be careful not to go far or the card will become unstable and either will fail or have visual errors. Much like all video cards available, this card comes with a standard analog, S-Video out, and DVI-I output. These extra display outputs allow enthusiasts to use multiple monitors for larger viewing space. Home theatre enthusiasts can take advantage of the S-Video to plug into their large screen TVs and enjoy watching movies right from the computer. The PCX5750 is based on the Nvidia Geforce FX5700 core, and because it has no native PCI-E support, it uses a bridge to translate AGP to PCI-E. The bridge does get warm, so a passive heat sink is provided to aid in cooling.
