Below are pictures and specs on both flavors of the new Sempron line of CPUs for you to check out. I was a bit disappointed that the new Sempron Socket A CPUs were still based on an old design, but I am sure that helps keep cost down, which reflects in the price at the sales counter and is good for the consumer. I like the new design of AMD’s processors due to the fact that they are more rugged in design and offer less room for user error when installing the heatsink. AMD will most likely be releasing more CPUs in this line as time passes in an effort to keep up with the current market trend. Heat which is usually a problem associated with AMD CPUs seemed to be a missing element this round as both CPUs stayed moderately cool when compared with their previous chips. The pricing of the CPUs is in range of the market they strive to compete in and should pan out well for them in the mid level market if all goes according to plan.
