Here we take a look at the difference between the six i915/925X boards tested as well as how they fare against their fellow desktop platforms. This is stiff competition these days as the AMD Athlon64 platforms are nothing but speedy. Again there are no substantial performance gains over the Socket 478 platform as the new chipsets hit market and the only real advantage is in the features being offered with the i915/925X boards. The 3.4GHz Extreme Edition showed better strength in games than the 3.6GHz Prescott and the Prescott showed better computational power over the Extreme Edition. For the platform tests we used the NVIDIA 6800GT for both the PCI Express and AGP slots.
