AMD has done a good job in the overall picture as the new chipset package along with their latest Socket 939 CPU seems to be working quite well. The MSI FX-53 939 CPU beat the Intel solution in almost every test and shows AMD to finally be catching up to the Intel giant. All the things that anyone could complain about in the past has basically been designed away and even the dreaded what if my CPU cooling solution fails aspect has been addressed and corrected. The CPU when it became too hot the system just shut itself off and even removing the heatsink during operation only resulted in a complete system shutdown and not a fried CPU as seen in the past.
Stability has always been the forefront of users concerns and both the new CPU's showed complete stability on both the boards we tested them on. MSI and ASUS were the first companies to have readily available boards at the time of the launch so we used both in our tests of the new MSI FX-53 939 and 3800+ chips for compatibility certification. Now that AMD has no more exposed bit to destroy users can more safely install their own CPUs without having to worry about crushing their newly bought chip. Intel and AMD have never been so close before in their entire history and the rumor mill says the Intel giant has seen the light and one representative said that AMD amazing sales growth has Quote" been a wake up call" Unquote.
