There certainly weren't any surprises or anything unexpected here at all. The SLK-948u performed very well indeed. With the overclocked Neverwinter score not even breaking 43°C, this is a very nicely designed and reliable heatsink. I'm sure it will perform just as well for the K-8 as it did for the P-4. Current "street price" is running around $43, so it is an investment, but one that I think is a good one if you really want a heatsink that does the job. Kudos once again to Thermalright for continuing the winning tradition of the SLK series. I am very pleased to give the SLK-948u an Editor's Choice Award!
