SYSmark is an evaluation tool geared at measuring the systems performance in a simulated real-time environment. Known as the most widely used test for PC evaluation we have been using this test for many years now and the test keeps getting more intense and longer each version. Watching this test run its full course is a long investment in personal time as SYSmark 2004 can take up to two hours to run depending on the system. The P4 once again dominated this field but the performance difference was minimal using the AMD Athlon 64 3400+ especially when compared with the scores from the Athlon XP CPU, which had a much wider performance gap.
