Installation of the MSI 7003 board was easy and a snap. I simply removed my old motherboard (AOpen A4XSPE) and mounted the board. After installing the CPU and 1 stick of memory, I attached the VGA output and booted the computer to the BIOS setup screen. This is of course what is called a minimal boot. I feel that it's important to know that I don' t have a dead board right away.
ATI kindly provided a hard drive with the drivers and everything already initialized. This I mounted on my case without incident. At this point, I attached the IDE cables and booted the system again. I was good to go as the DVDROM was the only thing that needed to be detected correctly. It's nice to see when a system boots right away, even though it was preset.
