AOpen is starting to make waves in the retail PC market and has been winning awards across the net for a variety of their desktop products including the DRW4410. I was fairly optimistic from the beginning on this one having just watched their latest AX4SPE motherboard go through two different labs test platforms, one here and the other here, I was very surprised at the quality it had to offer the end user and its on-board feature package. DVD-R/DVD-RW is becoming more and more a household item as this market grows and matures. Even DVD media, once the most pricey stuff to get your hands on is slowly making its way down the price charts and most price competitive 4X DVD-R media be it of the + or - variety is about a dollar a disc depending on where you shop. The latest and greatest features of the DRW4410 are its abilities to burn RW media at 4X when the current standard is still at 2.4X making it in some respects one of the fastest DVD burners around. Having 4.7GB of available re-writable space is a very solid form of backup media and should help in keeping you from losing imperative files if used correctly, which equates to often usage as daily backups are required to be an efficient tool for many users. Making copies of movies for your personal DVD collection is easy if you have the right software to take on the task and the 4410 is compatible with most products. AOpen, just as an afterthought is part of the ACER-Group which is one of the worlds's largest electronics' companies and their warranty policies trickle down to the user level, meaning that no matter where you buy your AOpen product during its implied warranty period the user can deal directly with AOpen for all RMA or other issues that might arise.
