Notebook: ECS I-Buddie XP Review :: Conclusion

Author: Doc Overclock · 10-16-2002 · Category: Hardware - Systems

If you are looking for a small footprint unit to use in place of a large desktop system that offers a reasonable amount of features the I-Buddie series may be your solution. Powerful enough to play many of today's latest Direct-3D titles and run almost any software is an attribute that offers the user a very flexible and robust system within the I-Buddie XP.

The only real issues you may come across with the I-Buddie XP series is the battery is a bulky non-user friendly addition and the bottom does tend to run a bit hot. Using the XP I-Buddie on your lap is not really a feasible option and I would recommend keeping it on your desk or another solid surface for optimal heat dispersion.

Beyond those little snags in the fabric the I-Buddie is a cool little all in one unit. College students are a good target audience for this product especially those in a dorm room where space is major factor in your product buying decision. I had a lot of fun with this thing and had a good time testing this unit for ECS, thanks Peter. The price on these buggers start from about $799 through the $1200 range depending on the configuration you choose. All in all a nifty little unit is to be had in the ECS I-Buddie XP.
