Anyone who has been waiting to see what’s next, well there you have it! David has slain goliath burned the remains and pissed on the ashes all in the name of the game. NVIDIA has done an amazing job at designing and re-engineering what we think a “high end enthusiast” graphics card should be. With the power draw of a mainstream card and the performance of a monster the GTX 670 is about as related to a 570 as a Ferrari is to a Prius. Going with that thought the GTX670 if it had to be condensed down to a few words to describe the only words I could find to do it justice would be a Hybrid Ferrari.
With the recent strafing run NVIDIA has done with GPU releases we can only imagine the stream running down AMD’s leg right now as they better fire back with something for enthusiasts very quick as the uphill battle just got a whole lot steeper and the 7950 might have just fallen off the ledge so to speak. The card ran pretty cool all things considered and under full load we see the card topping out at 74 degrees Celsius, which is a bit hotter than AMD’s 7950, but lower than their 7970 card. Today’s offering is however just the tip of the iceberg as NVIDIA’s partners all have offerings of their own each with its own unique style and special features to make users covet their brand of snake oil.
Gaming was really a great experience with the GTX670 as it was able to play every DX11 title with ease even with the games settings to their Highest or Ultra setting, which knocks some cards right to their knees. 1920X1080 is still the standard resolution for the PC gamer, but we also tested in 2560X1600 to give users a taste of what the 670 performs like at a higher resolution and the fact that having a 30’’ inch monitor is not all that uncommon now. My favorite new feature though has to be the adaptive VSync technology as this just makes gameplay a much better experience minus the stuttering we used to see onscreen when VSync previously failed. NVIDIA strikes yet again at the heart of the gamer as the new GTX670 not only plainly kicks ass in every known game title it also surpasses the expectations of many people coming to market with such panache at $399.99 it’s a serious Hot Product for the advent enthusiast!
