The BIOS for the Sniper M3 is a little bit different from the UEFI we saw on the X79 offerings although the 3D board model is a bit plain it was nice to see the real-time readout of the CPU and memory frequency at the top right. The first thing we observed is that unfortunately the Gigabyte BIOS is not smooth when it comes to mouse movements and is jumpy and laggy when trying to make adjustments via mouse input. Once we went into advanced mode we found the text-based mode was easy to navigate and was best navigated via the keyboard. This type of BIOS is becoming common on all new motherboards these days and as it becomes more popular the options and control parameters should only get easier to work with as the technology matures. Gigabyte does a decent job, but there is room for improvement.
