Fan Controller

Before getting to the power supply and all its glory, let’s take a look at this cool fan controller Cooler Master has included with their device. There are two settings on the front, one for Auto and the other for Manual. And the left side has Power Fan Speed while the right side has System Fan Speed. This seems like a neat tool to set the power supply’s fan to a certain speed so it can stay silent like the product name. However, there is only one thing that annoyed me about this controller. The dials on the front face that you turn clockwise or counterclockwise for controlling the speed of the fans is pretty stiff. It takes a good bit of force from my fingers to turn it and there isn’t much space for your fingers since they have curved the front face a bit. I think you have to put some WD-40 in order to loosen it up. Other than that though, I think this is still a great addition to the power supply. It will allow users to lower the speed of the fan if their computer does not generate a lot of heat and keep their computer silent.

Aesthetics

As all power supplies, they look like a big rectangle with connectors or ports for connecting your power supply to your computer parts. However, the main difference between this power supply and other models is that this one is fully modular. I love when power supplies are fully modular. It just makes cable management in your PC so much easier and cleaner. With a non-modular or even semi-modular power supply, you always have extra cables in a zip tie tucked somewhere in your case. Its not a big deal if you find a good place for it. But with a fully modular power supply, you can just use the plugs you need, store the rest somewhere else, and you’re ready to go.

The outside of the power supply is made of a material that is sort of a glittering black. It’s not just a straight up black power supply like most vendors produce. On the front you have your power on/off button and the 12V power connector. And on the rear you have the fully decked out fully modular power supply ports. As noted above, this will include your motherboard connectors, PCI-e connectors, SATA connectors, peripheral connectors, fan connectors, function panel connector, and floppy connectors.
