Lenovo Packs OneLink into ThinkPad Edge E431 Laptop
Just because you want a machine that’s easy to transport doesn’t always mean you have to sacrifice when it comes to features. Lenovo is packing its latest ThinkPad with plenty of goodies to help you get through the workday.
The ThinkPad Edge E431 is a Windows 8 laptop with a new ergonomic keyboard and TrackPoint device. These new options offer a better feel, but with plenty of functionality. That includes multimedia buttons and quick access to apps for instant gratification. There’s also a function-lock capability. The TrackPad is also bigger, smoother, and has a five-point click integration that can be configured multiple ways through the settings menu.
Oh, and for those days when you can’t seem to spill enough coffee on your shirt, at least know that your laptop will be fine. This keyboard is resistant to wet stuff.
The E431 is also one of the first laptops to score OneLink technology, which offers a one-cable connection to the ThinkPad OneLink Dock. This perk allows users to tap into video, USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and audio, all while charging up that new notebook.
As far as the specs go, this model has a 14-inch screen with a 1366-by-768 image, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, Bluetooth, a DVD-RW/CD-RW drive, and the option for a Core i7 processor.
For business meetings from afar, this machine also has a built-in 720p webcam with wide angles and fact tracking, as well as dual noise-cancelling microphones. Other features include the Intel Small Business Advantage platform, a fingerprint reader, an HDMI port, and Dolby audio.
Designed to deliver up to 6 hours of use on the go, the ThinkPad Edge E431 is available now with a starting price of $599.
