If your Dad is the kind of guy who's obsessed with keeping up with the Joneses, then he's probably jealous of every tablet-toting person he encounters. Even the six-year old kid down the street has a tablet! So, assuming you didn't give him one for Christmas already, Father's day is your opportunity to drop some slate in Dad's lap.
The problem, of course, is there are several different platforms for tablets. Apple's iPad gets the most attention. But, there are a variety of sizes and styles in the Android camp, too, if Apple's one-size-fits-all approach doesn't -- fit. Of course, if Dad is more PC than Mac, you may want to delay his Father's Day gift until this fall. Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8 OS brings with it a whole new breed of tablets and transforming laptops to die for.
But, if you have to get him one today, we'd suggest that you opt for the iPad or Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2.
