Handy Dads can be really easy and really difficult to shop for. Most of us don't know anything about tools. So without proper guidance, we'll either get something he'll never use or something he already has. It's also far too tempting to settle for lame tools, like a screwdriver set (he probably already has 6 of those), a hand saw (not the right tool for his larger projects but too large for smaller ones), or a tool belt (seriously?).
Fortunately, there are really handy power tools that he could really use. Wen's 10" sliding compound miter saw is one of them. Unlike a traditional chop box or miter saw, this one slides back and forth to accommodate larger board widths. Don't let the 10" size fool you. This thing will go through just about everything Dad would ever need to cut at a fraction of the cost of 12" models.
