In addition to Apple's premium pricing there isn't a great desktop option in their lineup. The Mac Mini is underpowered for most heavy tasks, not all of us need (or can afford) a Mac Pro and not all of us want to be tied to an all-in-one machine like the iMac. Enter the Blackintosh.
