Thanks to mother nature messing with Thailand last year, hard drive prices still suck. We weep for the budget gamer; spacious and speedy hard drives were abundant in the days of yore, barely a factor in a budget build. Today, the hard drive is one of the pricier components of a build.
Western Digital's 500GB Black drive is a bit of a compromise on space, but not necessarily on performance thanks to its 7200RPM speed and large cache. It's also pretty quiet, and doesn't cost anywhere near as much as the 750GB or 1TB version. See more.
