Sometimes a picture's worth a thousand words. That's why emoticons are great.
That said, with the new ones now, there's tyranny of choice! A major negative by-product of the new infusion is that the primary selection to the left of the message body no longer has the most commonly used ones like the yellow wink and laugh.
This got me to thinking: Is it possible to customize the emoticons to reflect the ones a user most often uses? It would be great to populate it with ones you use the most. Maybe some kinda drag and drop??
Also, this seems like somthing that could be automated as well; every time you click on one, it stays in the primary list until it's bumped off. It would be just like "see your posts" made possible by the login.
Just some thoughts... |

Hmm. Mine are now all green, save for a few helmeted arm-oticons ready for battle.
Keep us posted on any decisions/progress. It would definitely be a fun and useful addition. |

Cache clears and the yellow guys are back. Good call.
Still would be cool to customize this space tho. The thumb's up guy, for example, is one I always have to go digging for... |

when you click on them do they not end up in text format?
you could cut and paste the results into a word pad document and copy paste your fav into which ever you wish

then you could put a quick launch to that document on a tool bar
though i admit i like your customizable list because you would be able to see what they look like visually |
