I'd like to start compiling a list of manufacturer's sites where you can type in the mobo model number and it gives you the CPUs it will support.
So here's a start;
A-bit
Acorp
NB. Select socket, select mobo, download CPU support file
Albatron
NB. Pick your motherboard - CPU compatibilty is in next list
AMI
NB. What info there is for their few mobos
Aopen
NB. Compatibility lists for everything BUT CPUs!
Asrock
Asus
Biostar
NB. Select mobo and click link to right
Chaintech
NB. No specific CPU support but lots of other info
ECS
ECS alt
Epox
NB. CPU approval list last box under FAQ
EQS
FIC
NB. Choose mobo and download compatibility report
Gigabyte
Intel
NB. Find mobo - CPU list is on the right
Itox
Iwill
NB. Click on board and check compatibility on left
Jetway
J-mark
NB. Scroll down the page
MSI
PC Chips
QDI
NB. No specific CPU support but plenty of other info
Shuttle
Please add any more to the thread and I'll add them to the first post!
[Mods, feel free to move this into a different forum, or if it's already been done and I just haven't spotted it - remove!] _________________

QDI don't appear to have a CPU support section.
Nor do Chaintech, although they do have a lot of other info.
Perhaps someone else can find it!
Aopen seem to have a compatibility list for ervything BUT CPUs _________________

I think it's worth becoming a Sticky. _________________ I tried using a "Point of View Gun", but my aim was lousy.
ASUS K8N, AMD Sempron 3100+(1.8ghz), 1gb RAM, eVGA 5500FX 256mb AGP, two WD120gb SATA drives in RAID 0 (striping), 450w power supply.
Fold well, so that others may prosper. |

Here's the link to Chaintech's home site.. choose your language preference, then the next page has many socket types to choose from.. each with a breakout of the board's features. A manual can be DL'd from the "support" toolbutton.
Will have to delve into the other leads.. |

Yes, that's the same link. They don't seem to have a readily available list of CPUs that are compatible with particular mobos. _________________

Cor! I've never been stickied before.
Thanks mods.
More to follow as I have time or other people submit them - plenty more out there... _________________

I am fully aware that some of the above links now no longer work - I'll deal with it as soon as I have a couple of hours free...
In the meantime, if you find a new link or anything, please post below, and it'll save me a lot of time! _________________
