Let us begin with this all time favourite:
Q: In what order do I turn on the monitor and computer?
A: Turn on the monitor, and then turn on the computer. The following steps detail the recommended startup procedure and the expected results. This startup procedure is an industry standard procedure. If these steps are not followed, you may experience slight anomalies. Reference the Troubleshooting section of your monitor user guide for any additional information.
Turning on the monitor and computer
Press the power button on the monitor. The power LED lights.
Turn on your computer.
After the monitor detects a video signal from the computer, the power LED on the monitor lights solid green or, on newer monitors, solid blue. Allow about 10 seconds for the display image to appear.
Note: If, after starting the computer, the power LED does not light solid green or blue, or you do not see a display image, check the video connections between the monitor and the computer. For additional troubleshooting information, reference the Troubleshooting section of your monitor user guide.
Adjust the tilt of the monitor for the best viewing angle.
If your monitor has an AUTO/SET button, after you see the Windows® desktop, press the AUTO/SET button to automatically adjust the display image to the ideal settings.
Use the on-screen display (OSD) to adjust other monitor settings. For additional information, see Adjusting Monitor Settings in your monitor user guide.
Note: When adjusting the monitor settings, always press the AUTO/SET button, if present, before activating the OSD. This automatically adjusts the display image to the ideal settings for the current screen resolution. |
