This is more of an idea than a request, and I know its been raised before, but I just cant find the thread, if anyone can find an identical thread, feel free to lock this one
Its becoming more and more obvious to me that people are asking more and more questions about software. Im talking about the "usage" of standard appliations like Word or Outlook etc. And I think its also obvious that different people here have different skills, just because someone can build a mult-cpu SLI system hosting 17 HDDs and 11 Optical drives all in under 30 seconds, or another person can overclock a Pentium4 to 10Ghz, that doesnt automatically mean they now how to use certain software applications. Im just wondering if we need a Software forum for people to post specific questions about using their applications.
Please dont confuse this with Programming I know we have a forum for that, but Im talking about non-techie end-user stuff. |

i just came across this thread while searching to see if anyone requested a linux forum. i think this might be the first time i've ever been in this particular forum section. anyway, the Software Forum sounds like a good idea to me, it would help to keep it seperate from OS Forum or Tech Support. but then again, General says it's for hardware and software issues that don't have their own forum.
maybe it would just be better to rename Operating Systems forum to Software forum and take the software part out of the General forum's description.
now that i think about it, i'm not too sure a seperate Linux and Window$ forum would be necessary. but maybe we could get a new General Linux Tips sticky thread in Operating Systems forum because the one we have seems to have been co-opted for someone's personal project and opinion sounding board. |

I think some people at times forget this place is called motherboards.org and as such we are already stretching the support beyond the original limits. Anyway, I might learn a thing or two from that as well _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.
