AMD's roadmap of phasing out the Socket A line and replacing it with Socket 754 as the value line is coming to pass. Athlon XPs and Semprons are about to disappear. _________________

What ever I am graced with. I am sticking to my Socket A board for now. I got a couple of Socket 478 boards in storage if I need them.... Yeah I know 478's are ancient too.... _________________ We Help You. You Can Help Us!

| Does this mean Socket A MOBOs and CPUs will become cheaper? What will be a good time to buy? I am looking to build a cheap DVR and Socket A will be perfect for this. |

I am with you Toby B
I am on socket A and proud of it...in fact just about to get a 3200+ processor and build my wife a socket A machine for photo editing using the good old Abit NF7-S v2 board....
I have spare socket A parts and it makes sense to use them.
All of this will do the job required easily...
Our main computer will now be running the 3200+ processor still plenty of life in it for games...No need to go rushing out spending on a new socket just for a few frame rates... _________________ "Take counsel in wine, but resolve afterwards in water."
