we need something like a small deals forum. the ZZF Aus/3500+ deal etcetc, that could be useful to save money. _________________ "We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey." |

Well I think it sucks.............Hey someone has to be the voice of reason,
My cousin wants to try building his own computer and emailed me for advice. I told him to post his questions on our forum and I and many others will answer them there. He has just emailed me back saying he went to another site that was easier to navigate. (I ended up helping him over the phone) In other words, there are now way to many forums.
Thats OK for you extremist forum readers who read every post in every forum but for the rest of us it's just to much. How the heck can we keep up with all the latest info when there are 11 forums just in Hardware Discussions alone. You guys have to understand that to us seasoned forum members the new changes look great but to a newbie looking for help it's all way too daunting. They would rather go to a site with more generalized topics. This site is becoming more and more for enthusiasts.
Put yourself in a newbies shoes. They don't want to have to search through tones of topics to find the right one to post their questions, and then worry if it was posted in the right one, they will scroll down to the first topic that fits and post.
I told my cousin for example, that he should have just posted in the support section in recommendations and tech support and he replied but what about the hardware section. Do I post a Q about CPUs in the CPU section of hardware discussions? or recommendations?
This slight confusion can be enough to scare away newcomers to other sites as happened with my cousin. _________________

The whole point of breaking things down like they are is to make things easier to find. We still have the Recommendations forum, Tech Support Forum, etc. The only forum that was closed was the general forum...
You are the one and only person to complain about the new layout AFAIK. I know there were a few that were thrown for a loop (including me), but so far everyone else has had only good things to say about it...
The new layout will be much easier for all parties involved since things are broken down enough that it should be a matter of common sense as where to look or post. _________________ We Help You. You Can Help Us!
