Well here it is my 10,000th post on these forums, quite a landmark and one of several I've reached just recently, including 5 years membership of these forums, with approximately 4 of those years as moderator, and reaching 100,000 points as a contributor to our folding team.
I decided quite some time back that on reaching my 10,000th post I would announce my resignation as a moderator and that is the purpose of this post. I do not do this lightly nor without a tinge of sadness but the decision has been made and my resolve is firm.
My reasons are many and varied but primarily linked to the fact that I simply no longer have the time available to apply myself to the task at hand. The moderation of these forums requires a team effort and it is my opinion that in order to justify being part of a team you need to pull your weight however time contraints prevent me from doing this. The temptation of course is to stay up late and put in some time on the forums then but I am finding that this practice is impacting both on my health and on my business. It is therefore necessary for me to relieve myself of this responsibility so that I can focus on running my business efficiently, after all that is what puts bread on my table.
My time as moderator and member of these forums has been extremely rewarding from both personal and interlectual viewpoints in addition to being very enjoyable, even if a little tiring at times. The things I have learned and the friends I have made have made it all worthwhile. I would like to take this opportunity to give a heart felt thanks to Patrick & Doc for the priviledge of participating in the development of these forums into what they are today and also to thank my fellow moderators for their assistance, contributions and tolerance over the years, I sincerely thank you for your amazing efforts.
Of course this post would not be complete without thanking the members of this forum, you can be proud of the community that you have helped create here, a community that respects its fellow members whether they be newbie's or experienced computer users and respects the right of others to hold a different viewpoint to your own. I thank you for this tolerance and respect and I thank you for the education you have given me over the years but most of all I thank you for the respect, assistance & tolerance you have shown me personally in my time as moderator on these forums.
On a happier note I have no intention of turning my back this site or these forums never to be seen again, sorry but you don't get rid of me that easily. I will continue to lurk around the forums as time permits and contribute where-ever possible and/or practical.
Once again I sincerely thank you all.

The part about you not "moderating" the Forum is sad, but knowing you will still be a member is heartening.
You must do what is required, to maintain your "own ship" and its crew, firstoff. Then what is second, is what you want to do.
You have been and will continue to be a member of the "chosen" ones who guide the Forum and contribute to its endurance.
"Retirement" is not the end of your presence here! Your contributions and "requested" input will always be resepected. In my feelings, the door is "always open" to you!
A long, prosperous and happy life to you, sir!
