| was this the ad campaign that takes random words in our posts and makes them into sponsor links? there's a few sites that do that and frankly... it's just horrid. |

Just a simple question:
Is it true that it will help simply by clicking any of the external links we see on top of the forums; above the "Motherboards.org" banner and the main menu?
If thats the case, I would gladly click them all at least once per visit or even whilst Im just waiting for replies. |

No, only click them if you are interested in the ad. _________________ Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted - Albert Einstien |

mobo, there's a lot of people in here wanting to help you get some revenue 'cos they want to keep the site going. maybe it would help if you could give us some info on how the site generates it.
a few years ago the business model was $x per 1000 clicks, x% of sales from referred customers, y% of repeat sales from referred customers. $x for banner ads etc etc. not asking you to give away the bus model, just steer us all towards helping you _________________ "that's some catch that Catch 22"

The best way to help is to keep coming and spread the word to others when you get a chance. As far as the banners and ads go if you see one that you are interested in please click it. But do not start clicking just to give me more clicks. It lowers conversion rates and is not good.
Another way you could help is to use our price check engine, which is from Bizrate.
There is a link in left column of main site (Search Prices for motherboards).
Or you could bookmark this page and use it as a starting point when you are shopping.
http://motherboards.bizrate.com/buy/browse.xpml?cat_id=4&rf=mot006
But bottom line is the best way to help is to visit and refer others to check out the site.
I would like to stress that the site is not going anywhere, we are not in danger of doing so. _________________ Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted - Albert Einstien |

Personally, I was never in any doubt that the site was going anywhere - it's a popular well managed site with a lot of ad support and smart linking.
It looks like a good, solid commercial site to me that looks after it's community - but with all the talk of donations I think a lot of people here think it's run by a geek in a garage on a lick and a prayer, blagging bandwidth wherever he can get it.....
Long may it prosper. _________________ "that's some catch that Catch 22"
