Glad you said something.... I thought my computer was infected or something. I ran anti spy software and my virus scanner thinking I had picked something up recently. Thought I was going crazy. They're really annoying but if it makes more $ for you.... Guess that's the whole point. _________________

| At first I was freaked out by it, think that my computer was posessed or something and I have heard some unhappy comments but Im sure most of us understand that a website like this cannot just support itself. So little things like this is a good idea if it helps keep the site going and to remain online. |

well I can understand how it might seem annoying but we are all used to links, it is not that big of a deal. In a day or two I bet you dont even think about them anymore.
I am testing this ad campaign out right now and will make a decision to stick with it or not within the next 30 days. _________________ Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted - Albert Einstien |

Please understand that I regard this board's use of my words without my knowledge or agreement to advertise companies that I have never heard of ('home choice cheap broadband' when I say internet, 'onspeed.com' when I say broadband) and even companies I actively dislike (Dell when I say computer) as a gross misuse of trust.
Please be aware that this is something I personally will NOT get used to and I really resent it happening. I will not advertise these companies with my words - how could you think this was a legitimate thing to do? _________________ "that's some catch that Catch 22"

Well first of all we need to understand that this board uses your words every day. The google ad at top also does the same thing, it display context relevant ads, just in a different format.
As for it being a legitimate thing to do, I have no compunction about advertising to generate revenue to pay for this site. If the site does not generate revenue, guess what no site.
Now with that being said, I will take all feedback into consideration when I make my final decision on this campaign, but in the end I must decide weighing all factors that affect the site.
Over the years I have tried many different types of ad campaigns. And some of them I discontinued because many of our members did not like them (popups come to mind).
I have spent much effort in trying to find the balance between revenue generation and providing a clean, uncluttered site.
As I mentioned above. I believe there is a toggle I can set that will give visitors the option to turn off the intellitext. I have to take my son to soccer practice but I will try to activate that when I get back.
Hopefully that will resolve the issue for those who find it offensive. _________________ Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted - Albert Einstien |

They're not that bad, Mobo. Just a shock. If it keeps this site going, I'm all for it! _________________

I can easily deal with it. As a lot of ppl said and did, it kinda got me scared for a sec, so I ran my spyware and av software to find nothing.
So yeah they are kinda annoying right now, just the pop up part when I run my mouse over it, but as others have said as well, it generaes revenue and keeps this site going. I can deal with just about anything except a billion pop-ups
and of allw ays to advertise, I think this is one of the least intrusive and subtle ways to do so. So good job on that MoboCop
does it help any (financially) if we click on the links? _________________ P4 3.2 Prescott LGA-775
