I will be ... I've been busy fixing comps at work and for 30 or so friends/customers/family of mine that have ... neglected to protect themselves against worms and such....

have to go throught the entire rant about ... If you don't take care of your computer you will have to pay someone to do it ... (me) lol

its amazing that people will operate their machines for such a length of time and do absolutely nothing ... except pile more programs into them!!
(and alot of crap programs they are)
I So love people that have like 50 things running in their system tray or on startup!! grrr ....

Most people would not drive their car ... without changing the oil every so often or making sure to get gas...its amazing what people expect a computer to do with NO maintenance

(my best customer problem project so far) 400+ virus replications (14 distinct virii)
corrupted system files ect ect ... and NO Blaster worm!!! LOL

Absofrigginlutely !!!!!!

did not mention that but most peeps are just happy for the virus removal and system restore (get it working again !!!)

Maybe I can up my rates to reflect that service !!!
but I do it ne way ... regardless LOL ... I don't really want to see them too often and this is more of a extra spending cash type of thing and just being an all around Great guy. I don't even charge for the help I provide ... most the people just force money on me for helping them out!

The only thing that I do tell them is that it will be on my time schedule ... I try to return it fast ... but if I want to go out for a cold one with friends I do it regardless of whats on my bench!

For a living I do DB Administration and PeopleSoft Administration ... (for the government btw so it treats me well ...) even tho I hate the work!

trying to work Into Infrastructure more ... mabye assistant or flunky to someone who knows security

Credit where credit is due.

Earlier in this thread (17th August) I challenged joshvee to match or beat my score within 30 days.

At that point these were our individual scores:-

Aussie 1233 points 34 work units.

joshvee 71 points 1 work unit.

joshvee's current score:-

04 Sept 2003

joshvee 1370 points 32 work units.

1370 minus 71 = 1299

August 17 to September 04 = 18 days.

Not only has he beaten my score within 30 days he has taken less than the 21 days it took me to accumulate that score.

Congrats joshvee.

I'm still looking forward to the final challenge though. :P
