So with out a BIOS string it will still be up in the air till computerkid1220 can verify which one OR either one is a match.....
Computerkid 1220 - the BIOS string on your computer should look something like this:
1.00.05.Dxxx {x = unknown character letter or number}
on boot up screen

Your right it is this Motherboard. I have an NEC Ready 9701 system as well and I need the BIOS update. Was this info found?

Before I go around the dusty parts of my archives, what do you need that bios update for? The hardware is 10 years old, a bios update has no magic, only small enhancements and bug fixes. It won't add support for >128GB harddisks or windows vista.

I dont want to run vista. I have a legacy console system with legacy development tools that only work well on 98 or earlier. The hardware seems to have trouble reading pci gfx cards that are 98 or newer among some other things. Have hard disks for it just need the bios update please. Thank you.

hardware issue, the PCI slots are not up to the latest spec used from '98 onwards.

For obtaining the BIOS string, go into the first BIOS page and set "Halt on errors" as "all". Don't forget to 'save' before exiting the setup.
It would be in the lower left corner of the first screen visible.
From the info by the first posting, it appears to be an Intel 440 series mobo. Several variations in that chipset family, including mATX and ATX mobos, including Socket 370 or Slot 1.
Intel 440 chipsets:

Intel 430/440 chipset drivers:
But the i440 series should have had an ATX 20-pin power plug.. not a single row of 12 power terminals. The older Socket 7 type may have had the older power connections.
