I have an older MB and it only has AL 486 V1.0 on it and I need 2 find who this board is made by to get some help on up-grading CPU it came with a Intel 33 I was wanting 2 add a Intel 100 but when I add it, it will show Intel 100 in the dos startup screen an I don’t have a hard drive in it yet but it reads cpu speed, ram speed and all that stuff and if I have a win startup disk in it, it will run only if I have the 33 mhz cpu in it but when I put the 100 mhz in it, it stops after it reads the cpu and ram speeds and the win start up disk light comes on like it going to read but it stops and I let it sit 4 over 10 min. It just stops and does nothing it won’t go any further.
Anyone have any suggestions that may help me?

Thanks,
Porky

It's possible that this board is an ECS AL486 vio not an ECS AL486 V1.0 so HWJ's link may be correct after all.

I have a manual in my collection for the ECS AL486 VIO board.
