I have an AGP graphics card collecting dust in my closet that I never got around to using (needing). I'm wanting to build a system around it now seeing as it's an "end of era" piece of hardware. The ASUS A8V-X is probably the best mobo I could find to pair with my Sapphire HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 AGP card.
This board is probably the best one I can find as far as CPU, RAM and additional slot types go.
I really like the fact that it has PCI-e 1.0 slots so I can add new components to the board.
Does anyone else have recommendations as far as Mobos go?
I'm thinking a Athon fx-60 would make a nice running system for WinXP 32...
Thoughts?
P.S. would post links to the items but can't yet |

Welcome to the motherboards.org..
Looks to me about the best board you can get for AGP and PCI-e slots... If you can on the CPU front go for an Opteron 180.. Dual core and runs at 2.4Ghz, very zippy. I revived a slow old system with one... _________________ I have been programming on computers since the ZX81.
