Hello all. I need some help choosing between two video cards.
ASUS ENGTX550 Ti/DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card from Newegg and a
XFX Radeon HD 7850 Core Edition FX785ACNL4 Video Card - 2GB GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0(x16), 2x Dual-link DVI-I, 2x Mini DisplayPort, 1x HDMI, DirectX 11, CrossFireX, Dual-Slot, Fan from tigerdirect
I will be upgrading my power supply to Rosewill Stallion Series RD600 600W ATX12V V2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply
Specs on computer are.
Micro-star 785GT-E63
AMD Phenom 9850 Quad Core 2.5 GHz
8 Gig DDR2 memory
Windows 7 64 Bit
Now my son said to mention I will be playing Snipe Elite V2, and should be played on High or Ultra. Any help on this will be appreciated. I guess I am asking if there is justification in spending more money on the Radeon card, or it is just a darn better card. Thanks All!! |

the 550ti is a good card, but...i don't think you'll get the best results on the most modern games on the highest settings.
i would go for the 7850 personally, or a faster/larger nvidia card.
