Hey guys! I'm new here having just discovered motherboardorg's YouTube channel and I have to say on behalf of everyone, Thanks For all The help and advice you give us Fans and subscribers, very much appreciated ^.^ I hope my stay here is welcome, despite that I don't really know much /:
I'm wanting to build a budget gaming computer, strict budget of £700
Before I say anything else though please may I just ask, because I play on WiFi(Wireless) on I think either Virgin Media Fiber Optic Broadband or Sky Fiber Optic Broadband would I 100% need a PCI-E Wireless Network card in order for me to pay on WiFi?
But here are the parts:
Intel Core i3 3220 CPU
MSI B75MA-P45 Intel B75 Motherboard
Asus 2GB GTX 660Ti GPU / MSI 2GB GeForce GTX 660Ti OC Both = £215
(The Asus is Double Fan cooled whereas the MSI is Single Fan cooled, however the MSI has slightly more min/max clocks speeds or whatever)
Corsair Memory Vegeance (Blue) 8GB RAM
Seagate 1TB Performance Hard Drive
PNY 120GB XLR8 SSD
Corsair Enthusiast TX V2 650W PSU
Corsair Carbide 200R Case
Scythe Kaze Jyuni 120mm 1900rpmFan
Corsair Air Series AF120 Performance 120mm 1560rpm Fan
Total is roughly £725, which I know already exceeds my budget, and seeing as I'm needing peripherals I may need to downgrade a part or two, what I don't know.. What do you guys think though?
If any of you guys feel that I should switch some parts if I can get a better system for my budget or if you guys want to suggest a whole new computer then please don't hesitate to do so, I'm here for a reason and I'm greatly appreciative of all Feedback, positive or negative ^.^
Edit: Forgot to mention, The computers main use (Apart From Social Networking etc) will be light gaming, such as MMORPG's such as WoW and RuneScape, and FPS games such as Soldier Front, A.V.A, GunZ and Halo etc. I have an Xbox 360 For games like Battlefield and CoD etc. And I prefer to play games like those on Xbox, but seeing as now I'll have a computer where it's actually possible to start playing those type of games I might just give it a try! But the other main use would be downloading/watching Films/videos, I download Tons and Tons of movies and watch loads of Films on sites like Netflix and LoveFilm. Also, I know that for the computers needs a 660Ti GPU may be as you guys say 'overkill' or simply unnecessary as it doesn't Take a whole lot To watch Full 1080p HD Films/movies and The games I play aren't exactly very demanding. But although I'm not trying to "Future-Proof" I really don't want to have to upgrade or switch parts out anytime soon because They can't handle the demands of games in a Few years, also because I ton't really know how I'm going to build this thing in The First place, so having to repair it will be a nightmare! c:
Thanks though guys! Sorry For The insane amount of Text /: |

The system looks good. I used to play WoW on a system with far crappier specs then that, so you should be fine.
You could save a couple of bucks now and go with 4GB system memory, not 8GB. But if its cheap enough, I'd just go for it.

That all depends on the hardware that came with the setup. In Canada, they give you a USB device to plug into the system that connects you to the wireless broadband network.
If that is the case, then you don't need another wireless network card in the computer.
Side note, if you are not already gaming on that wireless network, you may want to talk with your provider and ask if they allow the kind of bandwidth you need, and if its unlimited. I know I don't always get the greatest signal strength with those things. _________________ "Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality." -Jules de Gautier

Welcome to the motherboards.org....
I would ditch MSI as the board supplier, still wholly unreliable in the UK...
For what you are doing on the PC, you can save a mint by ditching Intel and going the cheaper way with AMD. You get less performance as such with AMD, but it is not noticable unless you are using CAD or DV editing... If you do go AMD, look at an FX4100 minmum...
Video card wise, you don't need a 660Ti, it will give you eye candy and such in games like COD, but you can get away with a lower card with online stuff as a lot is dictated by internet/LAN speed. You could easily use an ATI 6670 which is less than half the price of the 660ti...
RAM is good....
Hard drives good, but whatt OS? Win 8 will take up approx 40Gb....
PSU - Corsair, great PSU's.. 650w on the margin, esp if you overclock... My own personal preference is a minimum of 700w.. Big video card, 850w and above, esp if running out to a monitor over 19"~20"...
(And win 8 is pretty good, it has taken almost everything I have pitched at it and not failed)... _________________ I have been programming on computers since the ZX81.
