Hi,
I am looking for a new GPU and was looking around when i saw that alot of cards use PCI Express 3.0. I dont really know much about this so thats why im here. This is my motherboard:
I'm looking for a GPU that supports DirectX11 and my budget is about 200 euros.
Please help,

The G31 chipset supports PCIexpress 1.1 just like the P35:

Per the PCI-E standards, devices must be backward-compatible to older standards.. but not forward-compatible. This means that if a motherboard or device is of the latest standards, then it will recognize all standards. If a motherboard has only the 2.0 standards, it may not recognize the latest standard for a device.. unless that device is certified backward-compatible.
If your motherboard is 2010 vintage or older, it may not be PCI-E 3.0 compatible.

the main incompatibility you might encounter is if the pci-e 3.0 videocard you want to put in does not have an auxillary power input. your motherboard may not give all the power the card needs through the pci slot since it is the older 1.1 revision... so be careful which card you choose, find out if it has an aux power input, or make sure its power envelope is lower than 75 watts.
