| Hi. I have an ASRock 970 Extreme 4 mobo, an Fx-6200 CPU and KINGSTON 8192MB HyperX Blu DDR3 1600MHz CL10 KHX1600C10D3B1/8G type ram. BIOS shows than my memories are runing on only 1333 mhz. How could i take it to 1600mhz? Whats the good timings for this setup? Now memory timing is on auto. |

Can't really help with timings and such but from a hardware perspective, I don't see why this board, cpu and memory couldn't run at full speeds.
Are you running with one memory stick or a pair? _________________ "Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality." -Jules de Gautier

Check the QVL listing for compatible memory types. With many motherboard memory designs, if populating all memory slots, the actual bus speed may drop to ensure accurate paging. And ensure that the same color slots are equally populated with identical modules. _________________ F@H.. to solve mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! |

Did you contact Kingston with this issue? Did you check the DRAM Timings Screen in your bios to see if all is set for [Auto]? _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.

Could be several reasons you cannot get higher memory speed. Possibly the PSU is not robust enough, the CPU is not "unlocked" to gain higher speed, or memory controller voltage is not high enough to allow precise paging. If the memory modules were obtained as a "kit", then they all should be matched within 99.9% of being identical. If the BIOS for this AMD setup is not enhanced to a "turbo" mode, then memory bus speed cannot be set higher than the auto-detect limits. The SPD factor is best for all memory timing issues. But some designs allow a bit of tweaking.
Best to list full details of your setup, to get a better grasp of your issue. _________________ F@H.. to solve mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! |
