Where can I get a good or complete reference about de Windows XP īDOSīcommand (the command that I can use in cmd mode) e.g CHKDSK, SFC, etc.

From the 'start' button, choose 'run' then type in CMD (doesn't have to be in bold letters) and type in the command lines needed. Same reference as to DOS commands. But some commands may not stay in view when executed, as with the old methods.
When done, just type in 'exit' to close the command window.
With some command-prompt lines, you may need to add arguments to effect the result you need.

Very helpful the list in the web site.
I already know must of them, but some are new in Windows 2k/xp (I think) and I donīt had any reference.
I was searching in some XP books but they donīt have any refrence about.

The original DOS commands are restricted to 16-bit file processes. Windows now uses only 32-bit or 64-bit processes. If renaming or moving files, the name may be truncated to no more than 8 characters plus the tag name!
Most of the command-line files have been revised for the newer OS needs. But many older commands are still viable.
Gone are the days (back in the 1980s) when any work done on a computer needed manual input.. there was no "OS" like we have today. The first version of MS Windows was released in 1985!!
Yes, there were menu programs galore.. which avoided typing in all those commands every time.. or batch files you could easily choose from, to activate programs.
The first "true" OS version of Windows was issued in 1995.

Yes, I still remember those old days! I started in the PC world in 1983 with a NEC 9801F, no mouse, no graphical interface. everything in keystroke after keystroke.
the first graphical attemps that I rembered were XTREE and PC Tools, they were a kind of "windows" explorer that automated some tasks.
my first windows encounter was in 1988 with windows 3.1!!
