I am having trouble upgrading to Windows 8 from win 7 and MS is suggesting, after two days of trouble shooting the problem that I update to the latest bios.
Systems specs- see sig...
windows 7 ver.6.1.7601 service pack 1
CPU- E8500
MB Gigabyte X48-DQ6 F6
I have never flashed my bios before and Am not sure which bios is most current given the MB is discontinued.
Choices form Gigabyte web site are F7 and F8D-beta.
all suggestions appreciated.

Download BIOS here, make sure your board is rev 1.1, it should be printed on it. F7 is the latest, but I would risk the F8 beta. It is there for a reason me thinks. Page 70 onwards in the manual explains how to do it, use a USB pen drive it is the easiest way. Proceed with caution and you'll be fine..!
