|
|
Any help appreciated. I have temporarily misplaced my copy of this manual - when I find it, I will scan it but I cannot find it right now so I would like an electronic version if someone has it or knows a link where I can look at it or download it.
Thank you. |

What type of motherboard is this.. an older "586" type? Found no info as to the "SL586" model.. and Asus support has no listing. If an older model, maybe manuals are no longer available.. but try this archive link.. http://www.elhvb.com/mboards/index.html . _________________ F@H.. to solve mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! |

SuperPower/San-Li/Hope Vision/whatever "brand" they used at the mom&pop computer store.

It's ok - if I clean up all my messes, I will find the manual sitting on the floor somewhere. I believe it's a blue and black manual. There are many similar boards but this one has 4 simms and 2 dimms. The rest is typical 3isa, 3pci, perhaps 1 express pci. It's an Intel i430 type motherboard.
Anyway, if I find the manual I should scan it in and put it up on some forum.
It's ok if noone can find it.
Thank you. |

If this does mean you found the manual, yes please do scan it and send the result to elhvb@outlook.com I will put it up on that page and include your "manufacturer" in the list. Thanks in advance. _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.

If your board has that long slot next to the CPU socket (SL1), that is for cache memory expansion.. not video. The board detailed in your link is strictly ISA/PCI. But a 32 MB PCI video card would be a good find.
The diagram is typical of many brands.. but basically the same layout. You likely cannot use both types of memory modules.. and it would be best if using the 72-pin SIMM modules. For PC-66 modules, very scarce. But PC-100 or PC-133 may be found. Ensure they are single-density, non-buffered type. _________________ F@H.. to solve mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! |

Hi evasive, I have found the User's Manual for the SL586V-Plus motherboard (vers. 1.2 of the manual). It would take about 30 scans on my scanner so I'll go to a copy center and have them do it I guess. Anyway, I found the manual so soon I'll post a .pdf file in the link you gave me.
Later on. |
