| So I recently got SETI@home and it pretty hard on my CPU it puts my CPU in 100% Load. My Temp is around 30C - 34C. And I run it 24/7 and want to know how bad is it for the PC's health to run it 24/7 at 100% CPU load. |

Not bad at all... They are really designed to run that way... _________________ I have been programming on computers since the ZX81.

Mr T is right.. best for a computer to run continuously, especially the hard drive.. no frequent 'cycling'. But after a year or so, those small fans on the CPU, GPU, PSU and such will need maintenance.. the bearing lube usually dries out after that time.. and it is easy enough to relube them.
The only short end is the cost of running a computer 24/7. A full-size computer will typically draw around 180 watts (average) of power or a bit higher, per hour. If your electric rates are low in your area, not an excessive increase your power bill.
But the contributions to F@H and SETI@home are priceless! _________________ F@H.. to solve mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! |
