Just the 81** score higher.

The benchmark for the FX 8120 and 8150 got high marks ... rank 43 and 30 ... that's pretty good, and the FX 6100 ranked 87 that not bad out of 317 and the user reviews are favorable.

Are they not reliable? Why do you feel they are a disappointment?

Thanks for posting that link ... it is very helpful. Intel certainly has the lead on the benchmarks and rank.

There is very little between the FX series and the AM3+ quad and hex cores - even in computing terms... Real world wise, my 245 setup does as well as my hex core running normal stuff (i.e. web browsing, word processing, running itunes and other simple tasks)... The hex core comes into its own when running virtualization software and runs it a lot better (again, quicker, sharper and a better all round feel)... The FX weren't much better - windows booted in the same time, IE and FF opened and did the same thing, Virtualizing was the same... For something 'new' I expected something to compete with an Intel i3 or i5 at a fraction of the cost - didn't happen... But that is a 'didn't happen' yet..... I think it is a case of watch this space.. I also think the AM3+ socket is out... And I also think that the inbuilt graphics on the CPU will dramatically improve to enable game play, CAD and the like on 'onboard' or 'inbuilt' graphics....

I see what you are saying now about being disappointed Mr. T for me going from the intel 2.66Ghz to the AMD FX 8120 is going to be a big jump in speed I'm sure I will be very happy with it's performance.

I really appreciate you posting this link ... I was going with the 1100T which was ranked 71, then I saw the FX 8120 was $4 more and ranked 43. Both got good user reviews at newegg and amazon. Your link help me make a good buying decision IMO. lachen

Listen to this guys ... I get my gigabyte ga-m68mt-s2 mobo and the disk that comes with it doesn't have the driver for the LAN now how stupid is that? I can't get online to do the windows updates eye roll The disc has an express install where it installs all the driver it simply isn't there:twisted:

The LAN is a Realtek RTL8211CL chip ... I found this site and I think this is the correct driver do you guys agree?

Try the Gigabyte website:
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3967#dl

Network adapter drivers are integrated together with the chipset drivers for this chipset

Quote:
NVIDIA MCP61/MCP68 Chipset Driver (include chipset\lan\sata raid driver)

Well I tried the file but there was no way to install it once it was extracted. I tried using the add new hardware and that didn't help when I show it the file with the have disk option the next button was grayed out so it didn't accept it. The ethernet isn't listed in the device manager either so that makes it harder. confused evil

What to do now ... look for another driver I can install? I'm going to have to contact Gigabyte about this ... owned
