| Just found out that he died today. Definitely one of the few who can say he changed the world in his life. |

Well, he died a couple of hours ago at max.
Say what you want about his company and/or his products; there''s no doubt he changed the world. _________________ I'm gonna get my new hardware. And my worklog here. |

At the time of my posting, about 12 hours ago. Without Apple we would still be at windows 95, just paying $400 for a license and be happy with less than 10 crashes a day. Apple gave the Wintel camp a run for their money. Jobs may be dead, his legacy will live forever. _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.

I wonder what's going to happen to Apple now. Crash and burn, or find a good CEO with thesame type of vision...... _________________ Faster than the speed of snot |

He had stepped down in Aug so he's already been replaced.
I am thinking more along the lines of the ipod and how we play music. They weren't the first company, but they were definitely the most successful at it. _________________ "Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality." -Jules de Gautier

Time will tell. Their user-friendly, smooth lines is their hallmark. If that changes, all bets are off. I expect to see quite a few more current brands step things up now. Just rumors of Jobs' health caused Apple's stock to drop like a rock not all that long ago. I'll be keeping an eye out there.
That said, yeah, it's kinda sad to see him go. He definitely changed our lives in a tangible way. _________________ Faster than the speed of snot |

I can tell you that they have already been screwing up some of their most popular programs. My husband uses Final Cut all the time. Their latest "upgrade" is really a major downgrade. Not professional at all anymore. They cut out all the vital elements that made it so efficient. I guess they're trying to please all the people with one program. The "regular" guy won't use it because it's still too complicated and doesn't work right and the pro guy won't use it because it's missing things and qwerky now.
I'll have to see if I can find the video poking fun of the latest version of Final Cut. I think one of the late night talk show guys had a segment edited with Final Cut to show off all the "new features". _________________
