|
|
I have a Medion M3 Composer - 5200 PC with a Micro Star MS-7046 MB that is bad.
I want to replace the MB and keep all the components compatible:
Pentium 4 (3.2ghz) 540 processor with HT tech.
1MB L2 Cache
800 MHZ FSB
4 slots for DDR pc3200 184 pin memory
4 SATA ports
Is there a board available for replacement? |

DDR memory is old standard, all LGA775 boards available new are DDR2.
Unless you want to buy a drop-in replacement board, but that will cost more than a new board including the DDR2 memory. _________________ We hate rut, but we fear change.

Ok then...what about keeping the p4 processor....what inexpensive board could I use then?
Are all 775 boards backwards compatible with my processor?
It's just an extra pc to use for email /shopping and some games...didn't want to have to spen the $ to build a new pc because of the MB.
Actually....the mb works with IDE drives...it's the SATA controller...or something that won't work.
When booting up the SATA drive is recognized but windows won't load...Installing the system disk for a repair gives the message that there is no HD avaiable.
The SATA HD works...installed on other system and disk works fine. I installed an IDE drive and loaded Win7 and the system worked fine...untill the HD wen't bad.
So I have to buy a slow IDE drive, or replace the MB to use my SATA drive.
What do I do? |
