| I am looking for something to help my computer run faster. I dont have much on it but it get slower over time. Its only about 1-2yrs old. It has 4gb ram and 250gb hhd and now it has win 7 pro. I see all these programs to help out but I dont know whats good. Even if its a program I need to boot from. Thanks |

And go through your 'startup' menu path and move or delete any programs that are not really needed. They all load to the memory, then just sit idle until called up. They are still available whenever called on, as needed.
Check the Task Manager stats as to 'processes'.. should be no more than 45~47 processes in operation, in a basic mode. You can go to Administrative Tools/Services and set the priorities for programming to launch on a 'service' basis or' as-needed' launch. Trim down the load of "loafers" on the OS bus, and see greater speed! Your SysTray box also tells a tale. More than six active icons (plus the clock and speaker) indicate a top-heavy OS load. _________________ F@H.. to solve mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! |
