Amazingly, we're still hanging on to our Top 100 place in 96th. The good news is that we are about to move up a couple of places and should keep our position for quite a while, maybe for another 12 months.
Some quick stats, 17 of us have passed the magic 1 million mark of which 14 are still active and I'm expecting a few more "millionares" in 2010. Next year will also see us pass the 100 mill mark total.
Lets keep up the good work in 2010.
Cheers,

Congrats to all the new "million mark" folders! Keep those points coming.
I am a LONG way from that magic million mark.. just being under 200,000 points. Would add another folding system, but power costs are outrageous here.. at a bit over 17 cents per KWH! _________________ F@H.. to solve mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes! |

When I added my PS3 a few days after black Friday there was a big jump in points for me. I only have 3 PCs with CPUs over 2 Ghz and the rest are 1.6 Ghz. I don't do a lot of gaming but I'll watch a few blue ray movies a week. Other than that the PS3 folds 24/7 and is the biggest points producer I have! _________________

What's the PPD on a PS3? An NVidia 250 GTS gets around 6k per day, something a bit older say an 8800GS can get a respectable 2.5-3k.

I hit 48,479 total points in November. In December I hit 68,691. That's about a 6.5 K PPD increase. I did lose a PC for the last couple of days in December and the first few days of January so that number should be higher. I think I would have hit 70,000 if all had gone well. I estimate it would have been slightly over a 7 K PPD increase. Just a guess though. _________________

Yeah, I've noticed the numbers slowly declining. We had 80 or so active users when I first started and it took 5 years to drop to 70. Part of the problem is that you need half a dozen dual cores just to equal a single 250GTS, I can see why some have given up....
EDIT, Just looked through the active and inactive list. Found 4 or 5 who've dropped out in the last few weeks, some of them I'm sure will return. Looking at the teams list some of the teams who were Top 20 outfits a few years ago are now in the 80's, 90's or even outside the Top 100. A lot of new teams seem to be able to get 500k a day, impossible for long established smaller teams to compete with that.

so goodbye to the 600's as I should be into 700's in about a week!!! _________________ Amd Phenom 9500 Quad on a ECS a770m mobo
